New year, new restaurant openings: What's coming, just opened in Rockland

Picanha Brazilian Steakhouse, West Nyack 

Open as of Jan. 8, this Brazilian steakhouse, which also has locations in Philadelphia, is known for its extensive menu of tableside carved grilled steak, chicken, and pork. . In addition to the full rodizio experience, guests can also enjoy the gourmet salad bar. Aunt Mia's, Tappan 

A longtime Orangeburg staple is moving to a new space in Tappan. Owner Maria Caputo said after almost 10 years in Orangeburg she needed more space, both in the kitchen and in her gift area. Customers can still expect her popular gourmet cookies, as well as a line of cookie bars. She'll also be supporting more local businesses and selling a variety of their chocolates, candied nuts, ice cream, Italian ices, honey and more. Plus, she promises more baked surprises. Boxer Donut and Espresso Bar, Nyack

There's now more space to sit and enjoy a doughnut and coffee. Boxer, which for 10 years had been at 18 N. Franklin (it was Gypsy Donut for five years and Boxer for five), is now across the street (as of Dec. 29, 2021) in the old Vibes space. Expect 12 seats inside, alfresco seating on the front porch (with a patio to come) and, on any given day, 13 to15 types of doughnuts.
